I-290
  • Runs from Thruway Interchange 50 to the South Grand Island Bridge at Interstate 190.
  • Located in the Buffalo area in Erie County.
  • Length is 9.96 miles.
  • Referred to as the "Youngmann Expressway", at one time was to be called the "PowerLine Expressway" due to the fact that it follows a large set of powerlines.
  • Traffic studies show the interchange with I-90 to be one of the busiest in the state.
