
- Runs from NY Routes 5A & 5S to Interstate 90/New York State Thruway at Interchange 31.
- Located in the Utica area in Oneida County.
- Length is 2.7 miles. Not the shortest interstate in New York, that title belongs to I-587.
- Interstate 790 isn't much of an interstate. Runs concurrently with NY Route 5 for it's entire length and also NY Routes 8 and 12 for the first 1.5 miles.
- There are no mile markers.
- NYSDOT Region 2 has worked with the FHWA and AASHTO to move the I-790 designation to the NY Route 49 freeway (Utica-Rome Expressway) to Rome.
