Runs from the Pennsylvania State Line near Port Jervis, N.Y. to the Connecticut State Line near Danbury, Conn.
Passes through Orange, Dutchess and Putnam, counties.
71 miles in length in New York State, passing through Port Jervis, Newburgh and near Poughkeepsie.
Originally built by NYSDOT (actually its predecesor) and was been maintained by the New York State Thruway Authority from October 10, 1991 through October 31, 2006. It has since been turned back over to NYSDOT.
