NY Route 840


NY 840
  • Located in towns of New Hartford and Whitestown in Oneida County.
  • It is approximately three miles long.
  • It opened to traffic in the summer 2005.
  • It is basically an extension of Judd Rd. (Oneida CR 40), running from NY Route 8 to Oneida County Route 40, hence NY "840".
  • The NY Route 5A exit is for "Commercial Drive", the main retail district for the Utica area, however no signs on NY Route 840 make reference to the name of the road, opting for NY Route 5A instead. See the sign shop for my suggestion on how to fix this issue.
  • The roadway is marked as an east-west route, however, NYSDOT references markers show it as a north-south route. This listing is based on the east-west designation.
