County Boundary Markers on the Thruway
Location: Entire length of the New York Thruway.
Current Sign: None.
Currently there are no county line markers on the entire length of the New York Thruway. This is unfortunate and decreases motorists' ability to know their location. Upstate New York is known for heavy snowfall and spring and summer severe thunderstorms. The National Weather Service weather bulletins, watches and warnings are generally based on county. Since the New York Thruway is "New York's Main Street", there are many, many drivers unfamiliar with the area. The addition of county line markers would aid these drivers considerably, especially during natural emergencies.
